About the Artist

My art is inspired by the places and things I encounter in my life. Walking in the forest, sitting in my garden or kayaking on a stream; that is where I find my muse. 

Art has been a common thread throughout my lifetime. I love all mediums, but my passion is pastel. The tactile attributes of pure pigment afford me the greatest creative expression in my work. I strive for loose strokes and color spontaneity using nature's palette to capture those brief moments of wonder of familiar places and things around me to create expressive landscapes and all things nature. I'm particularly drawn to painting water and reflective light.

A native of Western Pennsylvania, the change of seasons provides an endless opportunity for new and exciting subject matter.
